The challenge
The client operates a logistics centre with an area of approximately 30,000 m², in which the activity of receiving, storing, preparing and dispatching goods generates heavy traffic throughout the day.
The floors are constantly exposed to dust, tyre marks, dirt brought in from outside, particles and other debris generated by logistics activity.
The main traffic areas for forklifts and handling equipment require regular interventions, and the cleaning activity must be organised so that it interferes as little as possible with logistics operations.
Cleaning was carried out daily, with additional interventions in the receiving and dispatch areas and in the high-traffic aisles.
Previously, maintaining the area required several hours of work and the use of lower-capacity equipment, which limited the area that could be covered in a single shift.

Dr. Gansow Rotan 245 BTX 125
Following an analysis of the area, the traffic routes and the work schedule, the Komarom Trade Invest team recommended the Dr. Gansow Rotan 245 BTX 125 professional scrubber-dryer, made in Germany.
The model was chosen for applications in which productivity, run time and the ability to cover very large areas are essential criteria.
The ride-on configuration allows the operator to work efficiently over long distances, considerably reducing the physical effort associated with using walk-behind equipment.
Large working width
The BTX 125 configuration offers a working width of approximately 1,250 mm, which allows a significant area to be covered with each pass.
In a warehouse with long aisles and open areas, this feature contributes directly to reducing the number of passes required.
Run time for extended sessions
For large logistics centres, run time is as important as productivity.
Depending on the battery configuration and operating conditions, the Dr. Gansow Rotan 245 can provide a working run time of up to approximately 8 hours.
This allows extended cleaning sessions to be organised and reduces the need for frequent interruptions to charge the batteries.
Washing and vacuuming in a single operation
The Rotan 245 BTX 125 carries out mechanised washing and water recovery within the same operation.
This feature is important in a logistics centre where the aisles must be quickly returned to forklift and staff traffic.
The equipment configuration, the brushes or pads and the working parameters were set according to the type of floor and the predominant dirt.
Before implementation, it was possible to test the equipment under real working conditions to check the result and how it integrates into the existing logistics flows.

In the first stage, the Komarom team analysed the total area, the type of floor, the traffic routes, the level of dirt, the cleaning frequency and the time slots available for carrying out the operations.
The main aisles, the receiving and dispatch areas and the surfaces where traffic generates the greatest amount of dirt were identified.
Based on this information, the Dr. Gansow Rotan 245 BTX 125 and the configuration suited to the application were recommended.
Testing under real conditions made it possible to assess the cleaning result, manoeuvrability, productivity and the integration of the equipment into the daily activity of the warehouse.
After delivery, the operators were trained in the correct use of the equipment, setting the working parameters, charging the batteries and the daily maintenance operations.
