Mechanised floor cleaning in an industrial hall – Dr. Gansow Rotan 90BTX73
In an industrial hall with continuous activity, keeping the floors clean requires efficient interventions over large areas and in difficult working conditions. The client needed a professional, robust and productive solution that would reduce the time allocated to cleaning and allow a single operator to cover large areas efficiently.

- Mechanised floor cleaning in an industrial hall

- Dr. Gansow Rotan 90BTX73
- Area
- approximately 10,000 m²

The challenge
The client operates an industrial hall with an area of approximately 10,000 m², where production activity and the constant movement of machinery generate a high level of dirt.
The floor is exposed daily to dust, tyre marks, dirt brought in by handling equipment, particles and residues resulting from industrial activity.
Cleaning must be carried out daily, with additional interventions in high-traffic areas and in spots where dirt accumulates quickly.
One or more operators were used to maintain the surfaces, and the process previously involved manual interventions and the use of lower-productivity equipment.
On an area of this size, this method required considerable time and limited the staff's ability to consistently keep the entire hall at the same level of cleanliness.
Main difficulties identified:
- a large industrial area;
- constant traffic of staff and handling equipment;
- frequent accumulations of dust and dirt;
- persistent marks on the floor;
- a long time needed to clean the entire hall;
- the need to reduce manual interventions;
- the need to use the equipment for long working periods;
- maintaining production activity during cleaning operations.
What we needed to solve
The following objectives were set for this application:
- mechanising the cleaning of a large industrial area;
- less time needed for daily maintenance;
- a larger area covered by a single operator;
- fewer interventions and less manual effort;
- efficient removal of the dirt specific to the industrial environment;
- washing and vacuuming the floor in a single operation;
- ensuring adequate run time for extended work sessions.
The solution recommended by Komarom
Dr. Gansow Rotan 90BTX73
Following an analysis of the area, the type of dirt and the way activity is carried out in the hall, the Komarom Trade Invest team recommended the Dr. Gansow Rotan 90BTX73 professional scrubber-dryer, made in Germany.
The model was chosen especially for its combination of productivity, robustness, run time and operator comfort, important criteria for maintaining large industrial areas.
The ride-on configuration allows the operator to work on large areas with reduced physical effort compared with using walk-behind equipment or manual methods.
The Dr. Gansow Rotan 90BTX73 carries out mechanised washing and water vacuuming in a single operation, simplifying the daily cleaning process.
The equipment is suitable for use in production halls, factories, warehouses and other industrial spaces with large areas.
For applications that require long work sessions, run time is an important criterion. Depending on the battery configuration and operating conditions, the Rotan 90 can provide a working run time of up to approximately 4 hours, allowing significant areas to be covered without frequent interruptions for charging.
The equipment configuration, the type of brushes or pads and the working parameters were determined according to the floor and the dirt found in the hall.
Before the solution was chosen, it was possible to test the equipment under real working conditions, to check the result and identify the right configuration.
Implementation
The implementation process:
- Needs analysis
- Rotan 90 BTX recommendation
- Demonstration/
Testing - Configuration
- Delivery
- Training
- Support
In the first stage, the Komarom team analysed the area of the hall, the type of floor, the predominant dirt, the cleaning routes and the frequency of interventions.
Special attention was paid to how the equipment would be integrated into daily activity, so that cleaning operations would interfere as little as possible with production and logistics flows.
Based on the analysis, the Dr. Gansow Rotan 90 BTX73 and the configuration appropriate to the application were recommended.
Testing under real conditions made it possible to check the cleaning result, the manoeuvrability and the way the machine can be used on the existing routes in the hall.
After delivery, the operators were trained in the correct use of the equipment, setting the working parameters, charging the batteries and carrying out daily maintenance operations.
Komarom subsequently provides technical support, consumables, spare parts and dedicated servicing.
The results
Introducing the Dr. Gansow Rotan 90 BTX73 enabled efficient mechanisation of the cleaning process over the large areas of the hall.
The ride-on configuration allows a single operator to cover a significantly larger area within a working period, while at the same time reducing the physical effort associated with the cleaning process.
Main results:
- less time needed to clean the hall;
- a larger area covered by a single operator;
- less need for manual intervention;
- reduced physical effort for the operator;
- washing and vacuuming in a single operation;
- more uniform results over large areas;
- the possibility of carrying out long work sessions;
- efficient interventions in areas with heavy industrial traffic;
- water recovery after the washing process;
- more efficient integration of cleaning into the production schedule.
For a large industrial hall, the benefit lies not only in the travel speed of the equipment, but in reducing the total time needed for the entire cleaning process and in making more efficient use of the operator.
Testimonial
“The Dr. Gansow Rotan 90BTX73 has helped us make the daily cleaning of our production hall more efficient and considerably reduce the time spent on it. The machine is robust, productive and comfortable for the operator, allowing large surfaces to be cleaned in less time, with uniform results and less physical effort. Our collaboration with the Komarom team has been very good, from identifying the right solution and testing the equipment through to delivery, operator training and the technical support provided. We are satisfied with the machine’s performance and with being able to keep the floors clean without significantly disrupting production.”
