Mechanised floor washing and vacuuming in a hospital – Dr. Gansow Gmatic 50BX50
In a hospital or clinic, floor cleaning must be carried out frequently and efficiently, in spaces where the movement of staff, patients and visitors continues throughout the day. The client needed a professional, compact and manoeuvrable solution that would allow cleaning to be mechanised and consistent results to be achieved.

- Mechanised floor washing and vacuuming

- Area
- approximately 3,000 m²

The challenge
The client manages a medical facility with areas that require frequent cleaning: hallways, corridors, waiting rooms, access areas, common areas and other high-traffic surfaces.
Throughout the day, the floors are constantly exposed to dust, shoe marks, dirt brought in from outside and other impurities typical of areas with heavy foot traffic.
Cleaning is carried out daily, and additional interventions are needed in high-traffic areas during operating hours.
Previously, a significant part of these operations was carried out by hand or with equipment that needed more time to cover the surfaces.
Main difficulties identified:
- the need to clean certain areas several times a day;
- constant traffic of patients, staff and visitors;
- corridors and spaces where the manoeuvrability of the equipment is important;
- the need to reduce the time the surface remains wet after cleaning;
- high physical effort in the case of predominantly manual methods;
- the need to maintain uniform results over the entire surface;
- carrying out the cleaning without significantly disrupting the activity of the medical facility.
What we needed to solve
A few main objectives were set for this application:
- mechanising the floor washing and vacuuming process;
- less time needed for daily cleaning operations;
- less manual intervention and effort;
- the ability to use the equipment in corridors and in areas with traffic;
- achieving consistent and uniform results;
- efficient water recovery after washing, so that the surfaces can be quickly reopened to traffic.
The solution recommended by Komarom
Dr. Gansow Gmatic 50BX50
Following an analysis of the working conditions, the Komarom Trade Invest team recommended the Dr. Gansow Gmatic 50BX50 professional scrubber-dryer, made in Germany.
The model was chosen for its combination of compact dimensions, manoeuvrability, robust construction and cleaning performance, characteristics that are important for daily use in a medical facility.

The walk-behind format allows the operator to manoeuvre the equipment in corridors, waiting rooms and other spaces where a large machine would be difficult to use.
The Gmatic 50BX50 carries out mechanised floor washing and vacuuming up of the water within the same operation, reducing the number of steps needed to clean the surface.
Efficient water recovery is particularly important in an environment with constant traffic, as it allows the cleaned areas to be quickly reopened to traffic.
The equipment configuration was chosen according to the type of floor, the frequency of cleaning operations and the specific conditions of the medical facility.
Before implementation, it was possible to test the equipment in real working conditions, to check the results and identify the right configuration for the application.
Implementation
The implementation process:
- Needs analysis
- Gmatic 50BX50 recommendation
- Demonstration/
Testing - Delivery
- Training
- Support
In the first stage, the Komarom team analysed the surfaces that needed to be cleaned, the floor types, the frequency of interventions and the conditions of use.
Based on this information, the Dr. Gansow Gmatic 50BX50 model and the right configuration for the application were recommended.
Testing the equipment made it possible to evaluate the cleaning result and its manoeuvrability in the spaces of the medical facility.
After delivery, the staff responsible were trained in the correct use of the equipment, its daily maintenance and its operation in optimal conditions.
After commissioning, Komarom provides technical support, spare parts and dedicated servicing.
The results
Introducing the Dr. Gansow Gmatic 50BX50 made it possible to mechanise a significant part of the daily floor cleaning operations.
The operator can carry out washing and vacuuming in a single operation, reducing the number of steps needed compared with manual methods.
Main results:
- less time needed for cleaning;
- a larger area that can be covered by one operator;
- reduced physical effort associated with manual cleaning;
- more uniform results on the cleaned surfaces;
- faster interventions in high-traffic areas;
- efficient water recovery after washing;
- the ability to quickly reopen surfaces to traffic;
- a simpler daily floor maintenance process.
Testimonial
“The Dr. Gansow Gmatic 50BX50 has helped us make the daily cleaning of corridors and common areas in our medical facility more efficient. The machine is compact, easy to manoeuvre and allows washing and vacuuming the floors in a single operation, reducing working time and allowing traffic to resume quickly in the cleaned areas. Our collaboration with the Komarom team has been very good, from choosing the right equipment and testing it through to delivery, staff training and the technical support provided. We are satisfied with the machine’s performance and with the results achieved in our daily work.”
